You've probably heard that strength training is one of the best things you can do for your health. Building and maintaining lean muscle improves bone health, supports a healthy metabolism, reduces the risk of chronic disease, increases energy, improves physical performance, and helps you stay active (and looking good) throughout every stage of life.
But maybe you've wondered...
Where do I even begin? Are barbells just for experienced lifters? Am I doing this correctly? How heavy should I lift? Is this movement supposed to feel like that? And maybe, just maybe... will I actually feel like I belong here?
For many members of the LGBTQ+ community, traditional gyms haven't always felt welcoming or comfortable. Whether you've had a negative experience, felt out of place, or simply never found the right environment to get started, you're not alone.

His favorite lift is the front squat.

A space for all - including bathrooms
ActiveVT has two spacious and clean locker rooms and toilet facilities. Each locker room has 50 lockers, 3 showers, abundant space, sinks etc. One of the locker rooms has three stall toilets - the other locker room has 1 stall toilet and 2 urinals.
These two community bathrooms are non-gendered. We ask folks to use whichever space they feel most comfortable in, and to respect each others privacy.
